Because there’s nothing better than beauty mail. Who doesn't love a good surprise?

There’s a certain joy that comes with subscription boxes — the anticipation, the surprise, and the thrill of discovering new favorites. As a former IPSY Ambassador (since 2022) and a loyal BoxyCharm subscriber, I’ve seen this program evolve, delight, and keep the beauty community buzzing.

I’ve been getting my IPSY BoxyCharm every month for 41 months now (since March 2022), and somehow, the excitement never fades. Each delivery feels like a mini celebration at my doorstep. Of course, after all this time, my home is absolutely filled with products galore — skincare stacked, palettes lined up, and more mascaras than I can count. But that’s the beauty of it: discovery never gets old.

What’s Inside My August 2025 Box

Saturday Skin – Pore Active Treatment (50 ml)

This is a glycolic acid–based treatment at 4% strength, and right away I love that it’s not too harsh. I’ve used other glycolics that sting or leave me red, so the idea of a gentler formula is appealing. It promises to refine pores, smooth texture, and keep skin fresh — basically all the things I want in a treatment as we close out the sweaty summer months.

I tested a drop on my hand and was impressed at how lightweight it feels. No sticky residue, just a silky finish. My plan is to incorporate it 2–3 times per week at night and see how my skin adjusts. If it plays well, this might replace my current exfoliating toner.

Neogen Dermalogy – Double Vita Capsule Cleansing Foam (150 ml)

Neogen is a brand I’ve trusted in the past, so seeing this in my box was an instant win. The bright orange packaging screams “fresh,” and the gel-to-foam texture is exactly what my morning routine craves. It claims to cleanse while moisturizing — which is a bold promise, since most foams strip me dry.

The first wash felt cooling and brightening, and my skin didn’t feel tight afterward (huge plus). It has a very light citrusy scent that made it feel like a mini wake-up call. I can see myself keeping this one in rotation, especially for days when my skin feels dull.

Grande Cosmetics – GrandeMASCARA Conditioning Peptide Mascara (Rich Black)

I’m picky with mascaras, so I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this one. The peptide infusion is intriguing because I love the idea of a “treatment mascara” that cares for lashes while adding volume.

The wand is more on the classic side (not overly spiky or rubbery), which makes it easy to coat each lash evenly. First wear gave me a natural lift — not clumpy, not overdone, just rich black definition. The conditioning claim will take a few weeks to really judge, but I’m excited to see if my lashes look healthier with consistent use.

Pinky B Beauty – “Had Me At” Setting Spray

I’m a setting spray junkie, so this was one of the products I was most excited about. This spray is supposed to prime, set, and refresh — basically the multitasker every makeup bag needs.

The mist itself is pretty fine (not the dreaded “squirt gun” type), and it dried down quickly without leaving droplets. It has a very light scent that fades fast, so it won’t overpower sensitive noses. The true test for me will be whether it keeps my makeup locked during Atlanta humidity — if it survives that, I’ll call it a keeper.

Iconic London – Eyeshadow Palette (Hotting Up)

Shop Here - $62.00

The golden showstopper of the box. Iconic London knows how to do glam, and this palette delivers a mix of warm, wearable neutrals with a few bolder shades to play with. The packaging feels luxe in hand, and the pans are generously sized.

Swatching the shadows gave me buttery textures and bold pigment right away. The shimmers in particular are stunning — they catch the light without being chunky. I already see a few go-to combinations for everyday wear, but I’m also excited to build some smokier looks for evenings out.

This palette feels versatile, which is what I value most. It’s not just a collector’s item; it’s something I’ll actually reach for.

My First Impressions

This box nailed the balance between practical and fun. The skincare items (Saturday Skin and Neogen) are useful, everyday staples that help keep my skin in check. The mascara and setting spray add function to my makeup bag, while the Iconic London palette brings in that “special” element that makes the whole box feel elevated.

If I had to pick a favorite right out of the gate, it would be the Neogen cleanser for its refreshing feel and the Iconic London palette for pure versatility. The only product I’m cautiously testing is the Saturday Skin glycolic treatment — not because I doubt it, but because acids and my skin have a love-hate relationship.

Final Thoughts

Even after years of subscribing, IPSY BoxyCharm continues to feel like self-care delivered to my door. Some months are better than others, but this one? Solid across the board. The curation works as a complete routine: cleanse, treat, prime, glam, and set. That’s the kind of thoughtful balance that keeps me subscribed.

For August 2025, this box gave me a mix of reliability and discovery — and that’s exactly why I keep coming back.

Your Turn: What did you get in your August BoxyCharm? Did your box look like mine, or did you score something totally different?
